Identity, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Modernization Support

Updated: Jun 3

Overview:

Since 2020, KR3 has delivered professional services supporting the modernization, operations, and enhancement of a global data and analytics company's Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platforms across enterprise and FedRAMP environments.

Goal:

The client aimed to improve the scalability, security, and automation of their identity and access management systems while ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53 and FISMA. Objectives included migrating legacy systems to the cloud, enhancing cybersecurity defenses, and centralizing identity governance across business units and multi-cloud environments to reduce operational risk and improve compliance posture.

Approach & Outcome:

KR3 led the implementation of FIPS 140-2 encryption and migrated SailPoint from on-premises servers to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) virtual machines, enabling stronger access certification and AI-driven recommendations. We automated cloud identity provisioning, integrated IT asset management with ServiceNow, and enhanced IAM dashboards for greater visibility and reporting accuracy. Our team also strengthened AWS and GCP access by deploying PingFederate, CyberArk, and hardware-based MFA solutions.

To enhance cybersecurity, KR3 deployed a suite of advanced threat prevention tools—including Symantec BlueCoat, Cisco SourceFire, FireEye, and Netbrain—to enable deep packet inspection, endpoint protection, and continuous monitoring. Compliance with PCI, FedRAMP, and NIST frameworks was reinforced through the use of forensic tools like FTK and REMnux for rapid incident response and analysis.

In support of the client’s broader cloud transformation, KR3 automated provisioning and security operations (SecOps) workflows using Jenkins, Terraform, and Bitbucket, achieving 70% automation of routine security tasks. Despite initial governance and policy fragmentation, KR3 helped standardize IAM policies and completed 95% of workload migrations on schedule. Our efforts resulted in 90% IAM compliance and significantly enhanced cloud security and operational efficiency across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments.
